Today was by far the worst day of the trip. Driving through Missouri and Kansas was my first real bout with heat, and i think i lost. I had been doing a really good job keeping my water reasonably cool ever since Omaha...not today. Warm water just makes me thirstier, so that didn't help me too much. In fact, it was so ho that the iPod Zack lent me overheated (at least, that's what i'm assuming happened) and stopped playing music. The reset function that Zack showed me didn't work, so i had to wait until its battery died before i could use it again, so not only was i driving through the vast baking wasteland of Kansas, but i was doing it without any music. That was pretty much hell. After i stopped at DQ for some relief from the heat, the iPod finally started working again, and here's what it played:
